Trump campaign says Secret Service is responsible for St Cloud costs

(St. Cloud, MN) — The City of St. Cloud is being told that the federal government is responsible for paying a nearly 209-thousand-dollar bill tied to a rally by former President Donald Trump in July. In a Thursday email, the Trump campaign told St. Cloud LIVE that the U.S. Secret Service is responsible for local law enforcement and first responder costs. However, Secret Service spokesman Nate Herring said there is no mechanism to reimburse state and local governments for their support during protective events.
