Twins Blank Athletics to Even Series

The Minnesota Twins shut out the Athletics 2-to-nothing Saturday night at Target Field, evening the three-game series at one win apiece.

Alan Roden drove home both runs with a two-out single in the sixth inning. The hit ended Minnesota’s scoreless streak at 14-and-two-thirds innings.

Kendry Rojas made an emergency start after scheduled starter Mike Paredes suffered an oblique strain during warmups. Rojas allowed only one hit and struck out five over four scoreless innings.

Taylor Rogers earned the win before Tommy Nance, Andrew Morris and Yoendrys Gómez completed the shutout. Gómez recorded his 13th save.
