Twins bombed in Washington
(Washington, D-C/Learfield News) — The Washington Nationals scored 14 runs in the final four innings to beat the Minnesota Twins last night 15-2 in the nation’s capital. The Nats scored seven times in the eighth inning, with six of those runs coming against reliever Justin Topa. Minnesota starter Bailey Ober allowed five runs in five innings of work. The 16-21 Twins collected just three hits on offense, including a fifth-inning solo homer from Matt Wallner. That blast game Minnesota a 2-1 lead before the Washington blitz of runs. The 17-20 Nationals blasted four long balls in the win. The Twins remain in fifth-place in the A-L Central, sitting two-and-a-half games behind Cleveland.
