Twins Come From Behind Victory Sunday Afternoon
The Minnesota Twins scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning, and went on to a 4-2 come-from-behind victory Sunday afternoon over the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field.
Twins trailed 2-0 to start the seventh, but scored their first two runs on singles by Josh Bell and Alex Jackson. The Twins third run scored on a throwing error on a ball that deflected off Bell’s left hand as he was sliding into third base. The ball went into the Arizona dugout and Bell was awarded home.
Trevor Larnach drove in Austin Martin in the ninth inning for an insurance run.
Cody Laweryson pitched a scoreless sixth inning to earn his first major league win. Anthony Banda earned the save, his second of the season.
Minnesota Twins went 5-1 on the road trip, having swept the Texas Rangers before claiming two-out-of-three from Arizona.
The Twins return to Target Field, opening a three-game series against the two-time defending world champion Los Angeles Dodgers Monday thru Wednesday night.
