Empowering Communities, Celebrating Minnesota Locally

Twins Comeback Falls Short

Arizona’s Ketel Marte drove in the go-ahead run on an infield single in the seventh inning as the Diamondbacks topped the Minnesota Twins 5-4 last night in Phoenix. Byron Buxton hit a solo home run to give Minnesota its first run. Ryan Jeffers belted a three-run homer to tie the game in the seventh for Minnesota, which has dropped four of its last six to dip to 43-36. The Twins trail first-place Cleveland by nine games in the A-L Central. The Guardians have won seven straight games and are a Major League Baseball-best 51-26.  Game two of the three-game series is tonight at Chase Field. Coverage begins at 8pm on KNUJ and SAM 107.3.
