Twins defeat Rays
The Minnesota Twins opened their series against the Tampa Bay Rays with a 5-4 win at Tropicana Field last night. Trevor Larnach hit a three-run home run in the top of the second inning to give Minnesota an early 4-2 lead, while Brooks Lee added a solo shot in the top of the eighth to give the Twins a necessary insurance run. Jorge Alcala earned his fourth win in relief, while Jhoan Duran picked up his 21st save. Minnesota has won three of four and sits three-and-a-half-games behind Cleveland for first-place in the American League Central Division. Game two of the four-game series is tonight at 5:50 P-M.
