Twins drop a close one
(St. Petersburg, FL) — The Tampa Bay Rays evened their series with the Minnesota Twins with a 2-1 victory at Tropicana Field last night in Florida. Minnesota took an early 1-0 lead when Carlos Santana homered in the top of the second, but Jonathan Aranda and Logan Driscoll both drove in runs during the bottom of the fourth. Jeffrey Springs earned his second win after allowing just one run on four hits in six innings, and Garrett Cleavinger picked up his fifth save. Tampa Bay snapped a two-game losing streak. David Festa was charged with his fifth loss after surrendering two runs on five hits in five frames. Minnesota is now 75-63 and trailing first-place Cleveland by four-and-a-half-games in the A-L Central. Game three of the four-game series is tonight in St. Petersburg at 5:50 P-M.
