Twins Drop Series Opener To Royals
The Minnesota Twins have dropped three straight games after an 8-2 setback in Kansas City last night. All-Star pitcher Joe Ryan lost for a third straight time, falling to 6-8 on the season. The right-hander allowed two runs in the first inning and three more in the fifth. He worked five and a third innings and allowed five runs, four earned, struck out only three, and walked two. Josh Bell homered in the eighth inning. Minnesota fell to 56-58 and is four games out of first place in the American League Central Division, and one game back in the A-L Wild Card fight. Game two of the three-game series is tonight in K-C, starting at 6:40 P-M. Coverage begins at 6pm on KNUJ and SAM 107.3.
Saints Win Big:
The Triple-A St. Paul Saints scored the final ten runs of the game and beat Louisville last night 15-5 at C-H-S Field. Matt Wallner and Aaron Sabato each smashed three-run homers in the win, while Ben Ross homered and drove home three runs. The Saints are now 62-46 and will host the Bats for game two of their six-game series today in St. Paul. First pitch is 1:07 P-M.
