Twins fall 2 games out of Wild Card

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Twins fell another game out of the A-L Wild Card chase with a 4-1 loss to the struggling Miami Marlins last night in Minneapolis. The 81-76 Twins are now two-games behind Kansas City for the final postseason position in the American League, while the Marlins were saved from their 100th loss of the season. Miami scored all four of its runs in the second inning off of Minnesota starting and losing pitcher Bailey Ober. The Marlins got a solo home run from Jonah Bride, an R-B-I single by Nick Fortes, and a two-run double by Xavier Edwards. Ryan Weathers earned his fourth win after holding Minnesota to a run on six hits in five innings. The Twins left ten runners on base, getting only an R-B-I from Royce Lewis. The Marlins snapped a two-game losing streak. The same two teams play game two of their three-game series tonight at Target Field at 6:40 P-M.
