Twins fall in extra innings again
(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Twins were unable to turn a ninth-inning comeback into a win after falling to the Rays 7-6 in ten innings at Target Field in a matinee game yesterday. The Rays scored three runs in the top of the ninth to take a 6-2 lead, but Minnesota tied the game when Jose Miranda hit a two-out, three-run homer in the bottom of the frame. However, Jonny DeLuca had an R-B-I single in the tenth to put the Rays up for good. Royce Lewis and Carlos Santana homered for Minnesota, while Griffin Jax was charged with his third loss. The Twins dropped to third-place in the A-L Central at 41-34. Minnesota sends Chris Paddack to the mound at Oakland this evening.
