Twins Fall To Guardians In Series Finale
(Minneapolis, MN) — The Cleveland Guardians forced a four-game split in their series with the Minnesota Twins following a 5-3 win at Target Field yesterday.
The Guardians scored four runs in the top of the sixth to go up for good.
The Twins had the bases loaded with no outs in the ninth inning but could not muster a run in the situation.
Byron Buxton hit a pair of homers in the game.
The 69-49 Guardians hold a three-and-a-half game lead over Minnesota in the AL Central race.
The 65-52 Twins begin a key, three-game home series tonight against Kansas City, which is just a half-game behind the Twins in the standings.
