Twins Go for the Sweep Today

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Twins won for the fourth straight time when right fielder Alan Roden hit a deep single in the bottom of the ninth inning to drive home the winning run in a 6-5 victory over Cleveland last night at Target Field. Roden was 2-for-5 at the plate and drove home a pair of runs. He was recently called up from Triple-A St. Paul to replace the injured Byron Buxton. Kody Clemens and Luke Keaschall each hit a double in the win, which pushed Minnesota to 46-47 on the season. The Twins are just two games out of first place in the American League Central Division and only a half-game out of the final A-L Wild Card spot. Cleveland dipped to 47-46 with a fourth consecutive loss. Minnesota has won seven of their last eight series and will go for the series sweep with a matinee game today in Minneapolis at 12:40 P-M.
