Twins Host Astros Tonight

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Twins are looking to make it two straight wins when they open a three-game series with the Houston Astros tonight at Target Field. Minnesota won a rain-shortened, Fourth of July matinee yesterday over the Detroit Tigers 12-3. Jose Miranda went 5-for-5 at the plate to lead the way. The second-place Twins are now 49-38 on the season and six-games behind first-place Cleveland in the American League Central Division. The visiting Astros are 45-42 and sitting two-games behind first-place Seattle in A-L West. Houston has won two consecutive games, including yesterday’s 5-3 win in Toronto. Minnesota will start ace Pablo Lopez tonight. The right-hander is 8-6 on the season with a 4.88 earned run average. He faces Astros’ righty Shawn Dubin, who is 1-1 this season with a 4.91 E-R-A. First pitch tonight is 7:10 P-M.
