Twins Lose Fight’n To Stay Alive

For the second straight game the Twins and Guardians went extra innings and once again it was the Twins that fell short. This time, 3-2 was the final score in 10 innings as Cleveland’s bullen kept Minnesota hitless in 5 2/3 innings. The Twins did have the bases loaded in the top of the 10th but Carlos Correa popped out and Byron Buxton followed that up with a line out to end the threat. Correa and Buxton were a combined 0-for-8 in the loss. The Twins dropped three of four to the Guardians and now have fallen into a tie with Detroit for the final playoff spot in the American League. The victory for Cleveland however clinched their playoff berth. Minnesota now has a weekend series in Boston as they begin the final nine games of the season.
