Twins lose rain shortened game

(Minneapolis, MN/Minnesota News Network) — The Minnesota Twins lost a seven-inning, rain-shortened game to the Chicago White Sox yesterday 3-0 at Target Field. The Twins mustered only six hits and struck out ten times, battling through rain that ultimately ended the game early. Chicago got homers from Lenyn Sosa and Miguel Vargas in the victory. Twins right-hander Chris Paddack worked five innings of five-hit ball, allowing two runs in taking the loss and dropping to 0-3 on the year. Shane Smith notched the win for the White Sox, who improved to 6-19. The 9-16 Twins will welcome the Los Angeles Angels to town tonight to embark on a three-game weekend series. Tonight’s first pitch is slated for 6:40 P-M in downtown Minneapolis.
