Twins lose to Yankees again
(Minneapolis, MN) — The first-place New York Yankees extended their winning streak to three games after shutting out the Minnesota Twins 4-0 at Target Field last night. This is the first two-game losing skid for the Twins since they dropped five in a row from April 14-19. Minnesota scored a run in the first inning of Tuesday’s series opener and has gone 19 straight scoreless innings since. New York right-hander Marcus Stroman earned the victory after striking out two batters over six scoreless innings. Aaron Judge had a massive game after going 4-for-4 with three doubles, a solo homer and two R-B-I. New York is now 29-15 and leading the A-L East by a half-game over Baltimore. The 24-18 Twins are in third-place in the A-L Central, two games behind first-place Cleveland and a half-game back of second-place Kansas City. Pablo Lopez was charged with the loss after allowing three runs on 10 hits over six and a third innings. Edouard Julien went one for four with a double. The Yankees go for the sweep today at 12:10 P-M.
