Twins Off Last Night

(Minnesota News Network- Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Twins were off last night and will try to get back into the win column when they host the Chicago Cubs at Target Field tonight in Minneapolis. The Twins took two of three against the Tampa Bay Rays over the weekend. Minnesota is tied with Kansas City for second-place in the A-L Central at 43-47, trailing first-place Detroit by 14-games. The first-place Cubs were off last night and bring a 54-36 mark into tonight’s game. Minnesota Simeon Woods Richardson starts for the Twins this evening. He is 4-4 this season with a 4.41 earned run average. He faces Cubs’ lefty Shota Imanaga, who is 5-2 this year with a 2.78 E-R-A. First pitch tonight is at 6:40 P-M. In other team news, Twins’ all-star Byron Buxton announced that he will participate in the Home Run Derby next week in Atlanta.
