TWINS OPEN WITH 4-2 WIN OVER RANGERS

On Monday, Josh Bell who was born in Irving, Texas grew up about 10 minutes from the hotel where the Twins are staying this week and still makes his residence in North Texas. He crushed a three-run first-inning homer off former teammate Mackenzie Gore that sent the Twins on their way to a 4-2 win against the Rangers in the opener of a three-game series. He also singled, raising his career batting average in Arlington to .372.

Byron Buxton, who hit a solo homer (23) in the 6th inning for some valuable insurance in the game. Earlier on Monday, Buxton was named American League Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Taylor Rogers (3-3) faced just one batter to finish the fifth inning to get the victory for the Twins.
