Twins rally falls short
(Kansas City, MO/Minnesota News Network) — The Twins made a mad push late but couldn’t dig out of their early deficit as they fall 13-9 to the Royals on Wednesday night in Kansas City. The Royals built up a 12-1 lead through six innings, including putting up seven runs in the bottom of the sixth, as they continued to pad their lead. But the Twins started to mount a comeback with eight runs over the final three innings. Three of those runs came in the top of the ninth but in the end the Royals were able to close it out and hand the Twins their third straight loss to drop Minnesota to 1-4 on the young season. Joe Ryan lasted just four innings and suffered the loss giving up five runs on nine hits while striking out three. The series concludes this afternoon at 1:10 P-M.
