Twins salvage 1 game vs Mets

(Flushing, NY) — The Minnesota Twins used a five-run third inning to beat the New York Mets 8-3 yesterday at Citi Field, salvaging the final game of the three-game series. Minnesota outfielder Byron Buxton opened the scoring with a solo home run in the second inning, and D-H Matt Wallner added a two-run shot in the third. Pablo Lopez earned his tenth win after striking out seven and holding the Mets to two runs on three hits in six innings. Twins right-hander Randy Dobnak pitched a scoreless inning of relief in his first big league appearance since 2021.
