Twins Score One in the Ninth to Win
(Arlington, TX) — The Minnesota Twins scored a run in the top of the ninth to beat the Texas Rangers 3-2 last night at Globe Life Field. The game was tied at 2-2 when Minnesota first baseman Carlos Santana put the Twins on top with a sacrifice fly to score Matt Wallner. Willi Castro homered in the victory, Kyle Farmer tripled and scored on an error, while Jorge Alcala picked up his third win in relief. Jhoan Duran registered the save. The 68-53 Twins have won three of four and trail first-place Cleveland by four-games in the A-L Central Division. Rangers reliever Kirby Yates was charged with his second loss out of the bullpen. Texas has dropped four of five and sits at 56-66. Game two of the four-game set is tonight at 7:05 P-M.
