Twins Snap Two Game Skid
The Minnesota Twins scored six times with two outs in the bottom of the second inning and went on to beat the Kansas City Royals 8-3 at Target Field last night. Willi Castro launched a three-run home run in the frame, while Royce Lewis added a two-run shot. Pablo Lopez earned his 11th win after giving up two earned runs and one unearned run on six hits in six innings. Minnesota snapped a two-game losing streak, improving to 66-52 on the season, remaining three-and-a-half-games behind first-place Cleveland. Game two of the three-game series starts tonight at 6:40 P-M. Rookie pitcher Zebby Matthews will make his Major League Baseball debut tonight for Minnesota.
