Twins Snap Two-Game Slide

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Twins halted a two-game skid with a 9-5 home win over Baltimore Monday night at Target Field.

Minnesota starting and winning pitcher Dean Kremer threw seven innings of one-hit, one-run ball to notch the win over his former team. He struck out seven Orioles and walked only one. He improved to 2-4 this season.

Twins left fielder Austin Martin collected four hits, including a homer and a double, to pace the way. He also stole a base and scored three times.

The Twins broke the game open with a five-run seventh inning. Designated hitter Josh Bell’s three-run homer followed a two-run single by catcher Ryan Jeffers.

The 59-61 Twins are tied with Detroit for second place in the AL Central, three-and-a-half games behind the White Sox.

The Twins and Tigers are a game-and-a-half out of the final AL Wild Card position. Game two of the three-game series is tonight (Tuesday) at 6:40 PM in downtown Minneapolis.
