Twins stay alive, come back to beat Marlins
(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Twins scored five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning and went on to an 8-3 win over the Miami Marlins at Target Field last night. Byron Buxton tied the game at 3-3 with a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth inning before Manuel Margot scored on a throwing error in the seventh to spark Minnesota’s rally. Carlos Correa added an R-B-I double in the inning before Carlos Santana smoked a three-run, bases loaded double to right field. Griffin Jax earned his fifth win in relief. The Twins remain two games out of the final A-L Wild Card spot at 82-76. Michael Petersen was charged with his first loss out of the bullpen as Miami suffered its 100th loss of 2024. The series finale is tonight at 6:40 P-M in downtown Minneapolis.
