Twins Sweep Braves

Minnesota moves into the top spot for the final Wild card:

The Minnesota Twins swept the Atlanta Braves following their 6-4 victory yesterday at Target Field. Kody Clemens led the way at the plate after going 2-for-4 with three runs batted in. Josh Bell, Byron Buxton, and Brooks Lee also drove in runs. Reliever A-J Minter notched the win in relief. Minnesota has won three straight and now holds the final American League Wild Card spot at 63-65. Minnesota is off tonight and will visit the San Diego Padres for a three-game series that starts tomorrow.

Lynx win fifth straight:

The Minnesota Lynx won their fifth straight game after taking down the Golden State Valkyries 77-66 in San Francisco last night. Minnesota rookie point guard Olivia Miles and veteran guard Kayla McBride led all scorers with 20 points apiece for the Lynx, who improved to 30-7. The hottest team in the W-N-B-A has now won 15 of its last 16 games and will visit the Washington Mystics tomorrow night at 6:30 P-M.

Vikes/Ravens wrap up joint practices:

Day one of the two-day joint training camp practices between the Minnesota Vikings and Baltimore Ravens went to the defense for both teams. The offense struggled for both teams for most of the day. Head coach Kevin O’Connell called it valuable experience to go against another team at this point of camp. The two teams will practice with and against each other today before an off day tomorrow and a preseason game on Saturday at U-S Bank Stadium. Saturday’s game kicks off at noon. The 2026 Fall season begins today:

New Ulm tennis team travels to Lesueur to take on Lesueur/Henderson. First serve is at 9:30am.
