Twins Take Two From A’s
Minnesota ace right-hander Pablo Lopez sliced up the Athletics’ lineup as the Twins beat Oakland 3-0 yesterday in California. Lopez earned his seventh win after striking out 14 and allowing just two hits over eight scoreless innings. He took a perfect game into the sixth inning. Byron Buxton opened the scoring with a solo home run in the second, and he added an R-B-I double in the seventh. Griffin Jax picked up his seventh save as the Twins moved up to second place in the A-L Central at 43-35. Minnesota took two of three from the A’s in the series, giving them a 6-1 record in seven games against Oakland this month. The Twins are off tonight and will visit Arizona tomorrow night.
