Twins Tame Tigers/Miranda Goes 5 for 5

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Twins scored 12 unanswered runs and beat the Tigers in a rain-shortened matinee 12-3 at Target Field Thursday.

The game was called official after play was stopped in the bottom of the seventh inning due to heavy rains in Minneapolis.

Minnesota first baseman Jose Miranda was 5-for-5 at the plate with two doubles, four runs, and three R-B-I.

Catcher Ryan Jeffers was 3-for-4 with a homer and four R-B-I, while outfielder Max Kepler chipped in with a pair of hits and a pair of runs driven in.

Twins starting pitcher Bailey Ober worked six innings and struck out eight Tigers to earn his eighth win of the year.

Minnesota improved to 49-38 on the season, while Detroit dipped to 39-48.

The Twins claimed two of the three games in the series.

Houston will start a three-game weekend series tonight (Friday) at Target Field.
