Twins Lose Late to Kansas City

The Minnesota Twins surrendered a pair of runs in the top of the ninth during an 8-6 loss to the Kansas City Royals at Target Field Thursday night. Twins pitcher Justin Lawrence gave up a two-run single to give Kansas City the lead.  Kody Clemens homered twice in the losing effort, while Victor Caratini and Byron Buxton also went deep.  All four home runs were solo shots.  Taylor Rogers was charged with the loss in relief.  The 29-35 Twins remain in third-place in the A-L Central Division, while the 25-38 Royals are in last place.  Game two of the four-game series is Friday night at 7:15 P-M.
