Twins Top Atlanta, 4-2

The Minnesota Twins scored four times in the first inning and held on to beat Atlanta 4-to-2 Monday night at Target Field.

Josh Bell delivered the biggest hit with a two-run double. Royce Lewis and Kody Clemens added run-scoring singles.

Atlanta scored twice in the fifth, but the Twins’ bullpen shut the door from there. Yoendrys Gómez recorded the save as Minnesota opened the three-game series with a victory.

The teams play again tonight at 6:40.
