Twins Win

The Twins beat the Rangers on Friday night at Target Field, 3-2. The Rangers scored two runs in the first inning off Twins starter Bailey Ober, but that was all Ober gave up, as he picks up the win with five innings pitched. Alex Kiriloff hit a solo homer in the fourth inning to give the Twins the lead. Jhoan Duran picked up his fifth save, and Twins pitchers retired 15 of the last 16 batters they faced. The Twins have won three in a row after a seven-game losing streak. This was game number 50 on the season, and the Twins are 27-23 – six-and-a-half (6.5) games behind first-place Cleveland in the A-L Central. Cleveland won again last night for their seventh-straight victory. The Twins and Rangers continue their three-game series with Game 2 this afternoon at 1:10.
