Twins win 7th straight
(Los Angeles, CA) — The Minnesota Twins pounded out 17 hits during an 11-5 win over the Los Angeles Angels at Angel Stadium, completing a three-game sweep and extending their winning streak to seven straight games. Minnesota led by just one entering the top of the seventh before striking for four runs in the frame to build some cushion. Ryan Jeffers, Jose Miranda, Willi Castro, and Christian Vazquez all had three hits in the victory, which pushed Minnesota over .500 at 14-13. Pablo Lopez earned his second win of the season after giving up four runs on four hits in five innings. Luis Rengifo and Nolan Schanuel both homered in the losing effort, while Reid Detmers was charged with the loss after allowing five runs on nine hits in five frames. The Angels are on a four-game losing streak. Minnesota opens a three-game series in Chicago against the White Sox tonight. Chicago has won three in a row after sweeping Tampa Bay over the weekend.
