TWINS WIN AGAIN 3-1 OVER DETROIT
Brooks Lee, who came off the bench as a defensive replacement an inning earlier, poked a tiebreaking two-run single in the eighth inning on Thursday, giving the Minnesota Twins a 3-1 win and four-game sweep of the Tigers at Target Field. Lee had been 5-for-30 on the season entering the game. Twins first baseman Josh Bell went 3-4, HR, RBI and scored.
It was the first four game sweep by any Major League team this season, the Twins’ first sweep of a four-game series since June 13-16, 2024, in Oakland. Minnesota moved above .500 for the first time this season (7-6) the first time overall since June 2025.
Mick Abel pitched for the Twins but received a no-decision. Abel pitched six scoreless innings, allowing four hits and three walks with six strikeouts.
