Twins win streak snapped
(Chicago, IL) — The Chicago Cubs got off to a fast start last night at Wrigley Field and beat the Twins 7-3, ending Minnesota’s five-game winning streak. Isaac Paredes hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the first and the Cubs led the rest of the way. Paredes finished the game with four R-B-I, and Chicago lefty starter Shota Imanaga earned his ninth win after striking out ten and allowing two runs on two hits in seven innings. Minnesota’s Royce Lewis and Christian Vazquez went deep in the losing effort, and Pablo Lopez was charged with his eighth loss after surrendering four runs on seven hits in five innings. The 63-49 Twins are four-games behind first-place Cleveland in the A-L Central. The Twins and Cubs will play the rubber match of their three-game series today in Chicago at 1:20 P-M.
