Twins Win Streak Snapped

The Minnesota Twins saw their modest three-game winning streak come to a halt with a 9-5 loss to Miami last night at Target Field. Twins starting and losing pitcher Simeon Woods Richardson allowed eight runs, six earned, in just three innings of work. Woodbury native and former Gopher Max Meyer notched the win on the mound for the Marlins after tossing five-and-two-thirds innings of four-run ball. He is 3-0, while Woods Richardson dipped to 0-6. Twins outfielder Byron Buxton homered twice, giving him 15 total home runs this season. Kody Clemens added his fourth long ball of the season. Minnesota is now 19-24 on the season and in a three-way tie for third-place in the A-L Central. The 20-23 Marlins are in fourth-place in the N-L East. The rubber match of the series is today at 12:40 P-M in downtown Minneapolis. Coverage begins at 12pm on KNUJ and SAM 107.3.
