(Minneapolis, MN) — Twins starter Bailey Ober worked six strong innings and the bullpen was good as the Minnesota Twins beat the Chicago White Sox 4-2 at Target Field Tuesday night.
Ober earned his second win of the year after striking out six Chicago hitters over six frames of one-run ball.
Trevor Larnach homered in the victory as the Twins snapped a three-game losing streak and moved to 8-15 on the year.
Jhoan Duran worked out of a ninth inning jam to earn the save, getting a diving catch in centerfield from Byron Buxton to end the game.
Game two of the three-game series is tonight (Wednesday) at 6:40pm.
(Las Vegas, NV) — The top line of Kirill Kaprizov, Joel Eriksson Ek and Matt Boldy delivered in a big way as the Minnesota Wild beat the Golden Knights 5-2 late Tuesday night in Las Vegas to even the series at 1-1.
The top trio combined for three goals, five points and put nine shots on goal as Minnesota stormed ahead 4-0 and then cruised to victory.
Filip Gustavsson made 30 saves including 10 in the third period.
Game Three of the series is Thursday night at Xcel Energy Center at 8pm.
(Los Angeles, CA) — The Los Angeles Lakers evened up their first-round series with a 94-85 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game Two of the set Tuesday night.
Lakers star Luka Doncic led the way and finished just shy of a triple-double with 31 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists. LeBron James chipped in with 21 points and 11 boards.
The series is now tied 1-1.
Game Three will be played in Minneapolis on Friday night.
