Two Arrested After High-Speed Pursuit from Willmar to Meeker Co

Two people were arrested after a pursuit that began in Willmar Thursday afternoon and ended in Meeker County just west of Corvuso that reached speed over 100 miles an hour.

The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office says they learned Willmar Police had initiated the pursuit of a motorcyclist then terminated it, however, officers in unmarked patrol units continued to follow the motorcycle. A Meeker County Deputy intercepted the motorcycle at the intersection of Meeker County Roads 1 and 28 and after the suspect again failed to stop and then ran out of gas, the vehicle stopped just west of Corvuso on Highway 7.

The driver, 44-year-old Billy Jo Fischer of Willmar, was arrested for fleeing and driving on a revoked license. His passenger, 21-year-old Cassidy Lunz of Willmar, was arrested for 5th Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance and on an outstanding warrant.

Both were booked in the Meeker County jail and are awaiting a first court appearance.
