TWO ARRESTED IN RURAL STEWART INCIDENT
Two people were arrested after authorities were called to the report of a theft of two side-by-side ATVs in rural Stewart last week. The Sibley and Renville County Sheriff’s Departments were called to 17380 641st Street Tuesday, August 27 and during the course of the investigation, authorities noticed controlled substance paraphernalia and small amounts of controlled substances which turned out to be methamphetamine and cocaine in plain view in the residence. A search warrant was obtained investigators located a total of 153.5 grams of methamphetamine, 341.9 grams of marijuana, 2.7 grams of cocaine, digital scales, 121 individual baggies and measuring spoons. The tenant of the property, 40-year-old Wanda Vela was arrested by the Sibley County Sheriff’s Office and charged with a first-degree controlled substance possession crime, first-degree controlled substance sales crime and a fifth-degree controlled substance possession crime. Caleb Fox was also arrested by the Renville County Sheriff’s Office for a probation violation.
