TWO KILLED IN RENVILLE COUNTY CRASH

Two people were killed in a crash on Highway 212 at 2nd Street in Danube Thursday afternoon.  The state patrol was called just before 4 pm and found a semi and Ford Taurus had collided.  Driver of the Taurus, 55-year-old Ricardo Barajas Cantu of Danube was killed as was an 8-year-old passenger.  A 7-year-old was taken to HCMC with life-threatening injuries.  Two other passengers, a 3-year-old and 26-year-old Brandee Lugo of Renville were taken to Olivia Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.   The driver of the semi 27-year-old Justin Macht of Morgan was taken to Olivia Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.  The state patrol says all wore their seatbelts.  Danube First responders and fire department, Olivia fire and ambulance, Granite Falls ambulance, Renville County Sheriff’s Office, Danube police department and Life Link all assisted at the scene.
