U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar toured the University of Minnesota Morris observatory
U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar toured the University of Minnesota Morris observatory on Saturday, Oct. 12. Physics faculty members Sylke Boyd and Zoey Harris shared details about the recent upgrades to the telescope done as part of the Kapemni Program, which was funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation.
Klobuchar stated, “It was wonderful to stop by the University of Minnesota Morris. I joined Chancellor Janet Schrunk Ericksen to see their incredible observatory used not just to educate students, but is also open to everyone in the community to use and see the stars.”
Klobuchar also visited with Chancellor Janet Schrunk Ericksen, Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs and Dean Jordan Cofer, and Vice Chancellor for Finance and Facilities Bryan Herrmann.
