UMD Advances in NCAA Womens Hockey Tourney, Gophers play Saturday

(Ithaca, NY) — The sixth-ranked Minnesota-Duluth women’s hockey team advanced to the N-C-A-A National Quarterfinals with a 6-1 win over Sacred Heart last night in Ithaca, New York. Danielle Burgen of Lindstrom and Olivia Mobley of St. Louis Park each netted two goals in the victory. Goalie Eve Gascon earned her second career N-C-A-A win in net, making 11 saves. The 22-14-and-2 Bulldogs will now face third-ranked Cornell tomorrow at 3 P-M. Cornell is 24-4-and-5. The winner of tomorrow’s game will move on to the 2025 Frozen Four in Minneapolis on March 21-23.

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Golden Gopher women’s hockey team is hosting an N-C-A-A National Quarterfinal game tomorrow against Colgate with the winner advancing to next weekend’s Frozen Four. Minnesota enters play as the fourth-seed in the tourney, while the visiting Raiders are the five seed. The Gophers are 28-11-and-1 on the season, while Colgate is 30-8-and-0. The Gophers lead the all-time series against Colgate with an 8-1 mark. This is Minnesota’s 22nd appearance in the N-C-A-A Tournament and the are shooting for their 16th appearance in the Frozen Four. The puck is set to drop at 2 P-M tomorrow at Ridder Arena on the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis.
