UnitedHealthcare CEO Fatally Shot in NYC

(FOX News) Minnesota-based UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was fatally shot in New York City this morning (Wednesday).

He was in New York City for the annual investors meeting and was shot outside a hotel before the meeting.

The shooting happened around 6:45 a.m. near West 54th Street and 6th Avenue outside the Hilton Hotel.

According to police, Thompson was taken to Mount Sinai West, where he was pronounced dead.

Police say the shooting was not random but did not give details, but are looking for the suspect.

Minnetonka-based UnitedHealth Group – the parent company to UnitedHealthcare – is the largest health insurance company by market share, according to the American Medical Association.

Authorities showed this information on the suspect and reward being offered at a press conference this morning.
