University of Minnesota Plans $225 Million in Cuts
The University of Minnesota is planning 225-million dollars in systemwide spending cuts over the next two years.
President Rebecca Cunningham says the reductions amount to roughly 12 to 15 percent of allocated operating revenue. She cited changing enrollment, uncertain state and federal funding, and rising costs.
Every campus, college and academic unit will be involved in identifying savings. Specific reductions have not yet been announced.
