Up to 12 New Richland Homes May Be Total Losses

New Richland officials expect between ten and 12 homes to be declared total losses following severe flooding.

City officials estimate approximately 80 percent of the southern Minnesota community’s homes sustained some level of damage.

Thirty-six residents evacuated from a local care center remain in temporary housing. Repairs to the facility could take between six months and one year.

The community’s Friday homecoming parade and football game are still scheduled to proceed.
