USA BB Wins Gold/Suni Lee Welcomed at M-SP Airport
(Paris) — Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards won his first Olympic Gold medal over the weekend in Paris.
The Wolves guard chipped in during Team USA’s 98-87 win over France in the Gold medal round on Saturday.
Edwards finished the game with eight points, a steal, and a rebound in just nine minutes of playing time.
Wolves center Rudy Gobert had two points and three boards for France and took home Silver.
Minnesota Lynx star Napheesa Collier helped lead Team USA to an Olympic Gold medal yesterday (Sunday).
The Lynx forward had seven points as the United States beat France 67-66 in the Gold medal game in Paris.
Collier also grabbed 11 rebounds, five of which were on the offensive end.
It’s the second time that Collier has won a Gold medal.
Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve was the U.S. head coach.
Minnesotans warmly welcomed one of the state’s home-grown Olympians when she arrived at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport Sunday afternoon.
Dozens of people greeted U.S. gymnast Suni Lee.
Lee won a gold medal as part of the U.S. women’s team and added bronze medals in the individual all-around and the uneven bars.
Lee gave out autographs and hugs to the crowd before heading home from the airport.
