Victor Olofsson’s 2nd 2-goal game of the season lifts the Golden Knights to a 3-2 win over the Wild

ST. PAUL, MN – Victor Olofsson netted his second two-goal game of the season, leading the Vegas Golden Knights to a 3-2 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Sunday night. Shea Theodore also contributed a goal, while Jack Eichel tallied two assists, bringing his team-leading total to 33 for the Golden Knights. Goalie Ilya Samsonov made 20 saves in the win.

Olofsson, who had his first two-goal game in the season opener against Colorado, returned after missing 20 games with a lower-body injury. He’s now scored in three consecutive games, with his second goal on Sunday giving Vegas a 3-2 lead just 3:49 into the third period.

For Minnesota, Kirill Kaprizov scored twice, adding to his two-goal performance the previous day in a win over Philadelphia. With 22 goals, Kaprizov is now tied with Edmonton’s Leon Draisaitl for the league’s goal-scoring lead. Jesper Wallstedt made 24 saves in his season debut for the Wild.

Looking ahead, the Golden Knights will host Vancouver on Thursday, while Minnesota will face Florida at home on Wednesday.
