Vikings Keep Four Quarterbacks on Initial 53-Man Roster

The Minnesota Vikings have finalized their initial 53-player roster, keeping four quarterbacks for the first time in at least a decade.

Kyler Murray, J.J. McCarthy, Carson Wentz and Max Brosmer all made the team. McCarthy remains on the roster following speculation about his future, and Minnesota’s initial listing places him behind Murray but ahead of Wentz.

Undrafted rookie Brett Thorson won the punting job over veteran Johnny Hekker, whose contract was terminated.

The Vikings placed outside linebacker Tyler Batty on season-ending injured reserve, creating another depth concern along the edge.

Minnesota also traded offensive lineman Walter Rouse and a 2027 seventh-round selection to New England for a 2027 sixth-round pick.
