Vikings news, Darnold to start Saturday
(Eagan, MN) — Minnesota Vikings star receiver Justin Jefferson missed yesterday’s training camp practice due to a personal matter, while starting left tackle Christian Darrisaw was on site, but did not practice for an undisclosed reason. The Purple will have another practice this afternoon, which will be open to fans and is sold out. Meanwhile, it appears Vikings fans will get to see their new starting quarterback take the field during their first preseason game this weekend. Tom Pelissero of the N-F-L Network is reporting that Sam Darnold will start for Minnesota in its first preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday. Darnold is listed as the Vikings number-one quarterback, although head coach Kevin O’Connell said yesterday that people should not read too much into the depth chart, which was released this week. Saturday’s game kicks off at 3 P-M at U-S Bank Stadium.
