Vikings No Longer Unbeaten

Rookie place kicker Jake Bates kicked a 44 yard field goal with :15 seconds left on the clock to lift the Lions over the Vikings 31-29 at U.S. Bank Stadium. The Vikings rallied with 12 points in the fourth quarter including a 36 yard fumble return for a touchdown by Ivan Pace, Jr. to take the 29-28 lead. But the two point conversion failed and that set up the game winning kick by the Lions late in regulation. Sam Darnold threw for 259 yards with a touchdown and an interception plus added 39 yards on the ground. Aaron Jones rushed for 93 yards and a T-D while Justin Jefferson made seven catcheds for 81 yards and a touchdown grab. The Lions pulled even with the Vikings in the standings as both teams now sit at 5-1. The Vikings are at Los Angeles on Thursday to face the Rams at 7:15 P-M. The Lions with host the Titans next Sunday at noon.
