Vikings Stay Unbeaten With 23-16 Win Over Buccaneers
The Minnesota Vikings improved to 3-and-0 Sunday with a 23-16 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Myles Price delivered the game’s biggest play, returning a punt 86 yards for his first N-F-L touchdown. Kyler Murray later connected with Jordan Addison for a 41-yard touchdown, giving Minnesota a 17-10 halftime lead.
Tampa Bay pulled within one point during the fourth quarter, but Will Reichard secured the victory with field goals from 56 and 43 yards. He made three field goals overall.
Minnesota’s defense recorded six sacks and held Tampa Bay to two conversions on 17 third-down attempts. Murray completed 15 of 29 passes for 168 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Addison led the Vikings with five receptions for 90 yards and a touchdown.
The victory came with an injury concern. Justin Jefferson left during the first quarter with a right-ankle injury and did not return. Head coach Kevin O’Connell said Jefferson was close to returning but could not push off effectively. No timetable has been announced.
