Vikings travel day, Part Ways with Harrison Phillips

(Eagan, MN/Minnesota News Network) — The Minnesota Vikings have a travel day today, heading to Nashville to take on the Tennessee Titans in the final preseason game of the year for both clubs. The Vikes held a controlled scrimmage yesterday that the starters going against each other. Some starters did not take part, including linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel, Blake Cashman, and Harrison Smith. Quarterback J-J McCarthy did take part and he connected with receiver Jordan Addison on an impressive touchdown. In other team news, the Vikings are parting ways with one of their best run-stoppers. The team sent nose tackle Harrison Phillips and a 2027 seventh-round draft pick to the New York Jets in exchange for sixth-round picks in 2026 and 2027. Phillips spent the last three seasons with the Purple. He had two sacks and forced one fumble in 17 games last year.
